Alhamdulillah, sy dah abis Asasi Sains UiTM PALAM about 2 months ago and now a new batch of students gantikan kami.. so sbg sorg senior yg sudah mmpunyai pngalaman kat asasi, sy nk kongsi sikit tips and nasihat utk adik2 yang baru nk start ni.. sy x nak sugar coat everything and tell you guys that asasi sains is easy because that's a lie..honestly speaking, asasi sains is a pain in the ass and you need to be strong to get through it..
jadual mmg hectic gila and every week you guys akan ada tutorials, lab reports and sometimes ade quiz and ade jgk kdg2 tu kne jwb quiz utk 3 subjects dlm masa sehari.. sy dah dua kali kena jwb quiz bio, maths and physics pada hari yang sama.. bleh byg x betapa 'bahagia' nya hidup kne stay-up sbb nk study? hahaha.. rasa cam nk pukul org je.. so adik2 ku yg trsyg.. sy nasihatkan jgn lah study last minute (mcm sy) sbb hidup korg akan sengsara sgt time ade quiz n test.. sy dah byk kali study last minute and obviously, menyesal every time.. :D
1) Carry Marks
if you guys are wondering or ada yg still x faham ape kpntingan carry marks(CM) utk finals nnt, meh sy terangkan.. but before that, i want you guys to always keep in mind that carry marks are REALLY IMPORTANT.. hah amikk dah tulis besar2 bagi nampak :D carry marks ni akan mewakili(?) 50% of your total score for each subject bagi setiap semester.. contohnya subject maths, if you guys dapat 38% for your maths CM that sem, korg kena score 76 markah utk you final maths paper to get another 38% (76/100 X 50) utk dapat grade A. (76%-100%) so if your carry marks dah tinggi, contonhnya 40% ke atas, there will be a higher chance for you to get an A and you'll be less stressed out masa finals.. senang kan? you guys dah boleh target brapa you kna score dlm final paper by using your carry marks.. usually carry marks ni lecturers akan kluarkan 2-3 hari sbelum final paper subject tu.. so dah nmpak kan betapa pnting nya CM? please tanya lecturers korg pasal CM ni utk lebih faham and tahu each components(?) dlm CM tu mewakili brp % sbb it differs for every sub..

2) Lab Reports
ni la bnda yang slalu buat bdak2 asasi panas hati, pening kpala, sakit hati.. smuanya ada..tp bukan sbb susah.. sbb kbnyakan ahli kumpulan pemalas n suka lepas tangan.. so akan ada ahli yang sakit jiwa sorg2 sbb nk siapkan smua..sy nasihatkan korg jgn buat macam ni.. please be responsible.. smua dah besar pnjg kan.. so dah boleh beza mana baik n mana yg buruk.. mmg la senang and seronok x payah buat kerja byk2 tapi please be considerate of others.. make an effort to work together and contribute utk siapkan lab reports tu.. ramai org yg sy kenal suka lepas tangan n expect others to do all the work while diorg goyang kaki.. don't be like this.. don't be a selfish bully.. and also don't let yourself be bullied.. if nnt in the future ade ahli kumpulan yg jenis suka buat tak tau je masa kena buat lab reports, korg berpakat la dgn ahli kumpulan lain utk tegur dia dgn cara baik.. bawak berbincang.. and if dia still x berubah, ckp je kat lecturers biar dia kena buat lab reports sorg2.. jgn takut.. x payah kisah la pasal prasaan diorg sbb diorg pun x kisah psal prsaan korg.. x perlu nk jaga hati org camni.. biar dia tahu kesusahan org lain yang struggle nk siapkan lab reports tu.. jgn biar org lain dpt hasil from all your hard work while they sit and do nothing.. lab rep ni 10% dr your CM.. untung la diorg kalau korg biarkan je.. dapat markah free2.. i'm not asking you to start a war with them or anything, but just let them know that you are not a pushover and diorg x boleh suka2 hati nk bully you.. it's important to maintain a good relationship with your classmates especially your group mates tp x perlu la nk jaga hati org yg x spatutnya.. so its REALLY important that you choose your group mates wisely sbb korg akan stuck dgn diorg for both semesters.. klau lecturer suruh pilih sndiri ahli kumpulan, pilih yang nmpak muka baik n suci murni gitu.. hahaha XD korg x prlu la risau sgt pasal lab reps ni.. x la ssh pun nk buat.. cuma leceh sikit la.. you guys basically just have to know how to use google..ekeke.. slalu nya encik google ade jwpn utk kbykn soklan2 tu.. tapi jgn la amik sebijik2 ayat tu.. kan x pasal2 dpt markah kosong sbb dikira plagiarize org lain.. just faham the theory and buat ayat sndiri..
3) Text Books
lagi satu pasal text books.. text books ni x wajib pun beli except for chem text book sbb nnt diorg akan include pin numbers for you guys to access and sign up to their website.. pin number ni sgtlah penting sbb chem quizzes and assignments smua online and lecturers akan post at website tu.. pin number tu x boleh kongsi so macam2 mana pun you guys still kena beli text book chem tu.. yang subjects lain x beli pun x pe.. sy x beli pun.. cuma sy suggest bli text book physics la.. sbb soalan tutorials kbykn from the text book.. you guys bleh je dload the tutorial questions from iLearn.. tapi its better if you buy the book sbb mmg mmbantu utk study.. bio x perlu sgt kot, spnjg asasi sy x pernah guna text book bio.. slalunya just study using lect notes..but ask your lecturer la whether its necessary to buy it or not.. lecturer sy dulu x wajibkan beli sbb dia x guna pun text book tu.. just for our further reference..
4) Lecture Notes
lecture notes sgt lah important especially for maths, chem and bio.. so i suggest you guys make sure yang korg ade every lect. notes yang lecturers korg post dkt iLearn sbb lect. notes ni you guys akan guna stiap masa.. time lecture, time nk buat tutorial and more importantly, they really help you with your studies.. senang and ringkas.. lect notes slalunya dalam bntuk points, so x payah nk baca byk2.. lect notes ni kena print sndiri la.. don't expect that it'll be handed out to you by your lecturers.. klau nak kena sepak try la mintak from your lecturers.. hahahaha.. it's up to you guys whether nak print individually or nk byr kat sorg utk print for the whole class.. slalunya class rep yang kena print notes ni especially maths sbb lect note maths can only be bought at the kedai at Plaza Satellite B (PSB).. not available online.. utk other subjects, jgn beli kat kedai tu unless you are told otherwise by your lecturers sbb slalunya yang diorg jual kt kdai tu x sama ngn yang lecturers punya ( every lecturers have diff. lect notes)
5) iLearn
iLearn is another crucial thing utk bdak2 asasi.. korg kena sntiasa alert and slalu check updates dkt ilearn.. kdg2 lecturers x ckp pun ade online quiz kat iLearn, so korg kena pandai2 check sndiri.. jgn tunggu lecturers suruh..nnt trlepas due date dia x pasal2 hilang markah.. iLearn adalah tmpt where the lecturers post segala announcement, notes and tutorials.. so korang kena la ringan2 tangan nk login and check yer..
6)Class Rep
class rep ni byk responsibilities. antaranya: print notes, cari classroom kosong utk class ganti, inform everyone pasal class cancellation or class ganti, urus permohonan utk class trip, photostat kertas2 extra from lecturers n macam2 lagi.. so if nnt mentor korg suruh pilih class rep, sy nasihatkan jgn volunteer if you think you can't handle all the responsibilities sbb korg akan brtambah stress.. but if you think you can do it then go for it.. bagus lah kalau korg bleh handle pressure macam ni sbb akan mmbntu korg in the future, but jgn paksa diri kalau x boleh.. asasi is stressful enough as it is.. don't make it much more complicated by putting too much pressure on yourself ;) and also, even if you're not the class rep, make sure to always lend a helping hand to ease the class rep's burden.. jgn la harapkan dia je.. bantu-mmbantu la yerr.. hihihi
7) First Sem
i cannot stress enough on how important the first sem is for bdak2 asasi.. in fact, i think it's more important than the second sem sebab kbykn U akan guna your 1st sem result utk decide whether you guys layak atau tak utk interview for certain degree courses yang korang akan apply nnt (exp: dentistry, pharmacy, medic) so if result 1st sem korang ke laut.. mmg ssh la nk dpt IV tu.. furthermore, nnt time korg tgh2 2nd sem akan ada application for scholarships like mybrainsc, petronas and etc.. diorg akan guna your 1st sem result to decide and mostly have a requirement of at least 3.5 for your 1st sem pointer.. 2nd sem pun important jugak.. but i really advice you guys to not play around during 1st sem.. avoid the mindset that it's okay to not give your best during 1st sem because you still have the 2nd sem and it's a time to enjoy yourself.. don't make that mistake because you're going to regret it later.. trust me, i know..hahaha.. yes, i was a lazy ass.. that's why i want you guys to do it differently and make sure you won't regret it in the future..
